Lee Jackson Bio

Lee Jackson is an expert in vocational education and training, having worked for over 20 years in human resources, training and development, performance management,  government liaison roles, and promoting workforce development and TVET across a number of industry sectors.

Lee’s work in the Australian TVET system has spanned a number of specialisation areas.  He has held roles managing apprenticeships and managing strategic policy with Western Australia’s Department of Training; developing training strategy for industry with the Chamber of Minerals and Energy Western Australia; engaging with industry stakeholders in the resources and infrastructure sectors as the regional manager for SkillsDMC WA office; managing training and assessment activities for Ausdrill and DrillSkill Training; and advising on the expenditure of training funds for the Australian Government’s Industry Skills Fund.  Through this diversity, Lee has developed a broad, deep and nuanced understanding of how effective TVET systems are organised, implemented and monitored.

Lee has skills and experience in:

  • Workforce analysis, planning and development at both enterprise and state/provincial levels
  • Managing, delivering and advising on quality training and assessment practices
  • Instructional design
  • Process improvement of training and assessment services

Lee holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia, as well as Diplomas of Management and of Vocational Education and Training.  He is a qualified trainer and assessor in Australia and is ISO9001:2008 (Lead Auditor Training) certified.
