The Australian Aid Supplier Conference organised by DFAT
On 17 February 2017, DFAT organised in Canberra the inaugural Australian Aid Supplier Conference, a Government initiative to promote understanding of Australia’s development assistance priorities and thinking.
The event saw the participation of over 107 organisations ranging from commercial, not-for-profit, and multilateral organisations, to academic institutions, individual and government technical experts.
The conference has been the occasion to discuss six main topics:
- Procurement changes
- Australian aid commitment in Africa
- New programs to engage the private sector
- Bidding opportunities
- Seeking new ideas
- Seeking feedback
We would like to share an article, published on Devex website, written by Lisa Cornish, Devex reporter based in Canberra. The article illustrates the key points and outcomes discussed during the conference for each of the topics listed.
